Grief Therapy in St Austell

BWRT is a highly effective therapy for grief which supports people to gently move through the stages of grief. It enables people to come to a place of less pain and more peace. Then we’re more able to remember the good times with that person, which grief often blocks out.

Many people believe they have to suffer their grief like a badge of honour – that they’re respecting their lost person by suffering for the rest of their life. They never think to ask themselves would their loved one WANT them to be suffering so much… and what good does it achieve…? Healing is a real option and whether you’ve lost a child, a parent, a partner or comrade we all deserve to enjoy life again.

There are many therapies and counsellors who help with grief but that’s very much a long term process. The good news is that now it doesn’t have to be. One bereavement can often be treated in one or two sessions. This enables people to feel better sooner of course, as well as saving money.

TESTIMONIAL

Recently a very dear and loved friend of mine died and the pain and grief I felt was intense. Every time I thought about my friend I felt like I’d just heard the news and it was like a knife stabbing me. Julie told me about a treatment for grief which she was sure would help.

The session was painful, like all counselling, but by the finish, the edge of the pain really felt like it had lessened. As the days followed I found myself going back to what Julie told me during the session and it has made such a difference.

I am still grieving, of course, but the stabbing has lessened. I can now talk about my friend without crumpling into tears. I feel like I’ve got over the massive shock of my friend dying and I can move forward so that the grief isn’t ruling my life. Julie’s calm voice and positive influence was a fantastic help to me at an incredibly painful time and I am very grateful. TERESA
